Haven't paid a dime for OnStar. I think the app features will keep working even without an active paid subscription. Edit: Mine turned off. Looked it up and it is a 5 year free subscription from the original purchase date.

Since cancellation, we've been still able to use the features on the App to monitor charge status, lock/unlock vehicle, remote start the vehicle, and use the vehicle locator w/o any issues.
